OUR MINISTRIES
We would like to extend an invitation to you to join a ministry and be a part to growth of the body of Christ. Not only are we expected to give our tithes but also an offering. Our offering is to submit our talents in fellowship with our church family. You matter and your contributions matter. ".... I would be a doorkeeper in the house of the Lord, then to dwell in the house of the wicked.....Psalms 84:11 As the needs of our community increase, so will our commitment to serve others increase. Bazil AME Church's ministry are also available to online members. Some of our meetings and events will be hybrid, as well as interactive. We are also looking for grant writers and the committee can be located anywhere in the world. Here are a few scriptures from the Holy Bible on why you should serve in this capacity with a glad heart. God desires an obedient spirit from all of us.

The "Bazil Babies" Ministry
Our church is inter-generational and children are included in all services. We have ministries that focus on the growth and development of the child as a whole person.
It is our obligation to instill Christian values and help our youth develop a personal relationship with God. It is hope that our children will discern the voice of God at an early age and be obedient to God. We have age appropriate activities that are Christ centered, engaging and fun. We need volunteers that have a passion for children. Anyone working with children must submit to a background check.
Hospitality Ministry
Hospitality is so important to the Bazil AME Church family.
We want you to experience God's love as soon as you arrive. We will greet you in the name of Jesus and we are prepared to make you feel comfortable and ready to receive the word of God.
It is the hospitality ministry that recognizes your birthday and anniversaries. When you join in person, they will give you a welcome gift. If you are in the hospital or considered "sick and shut in", it the hospitality ministry that will contact you in addition to Pastor Kirsten.
If you are a people person with a gift of serving, this is the ministry for you.

Men's Ministry
The Bazil men are very interesting because by nature, most of them of introverts but when the Bazil men get together, they are extraverts. The Bazil men are an intergenerational group of men who strive to thrive in their personal relationship with God. They enjoy worshiping with their families, sitting around after church talking, discussing the physical needs of the church building and preparing for our next after church barbeque.
The Bazil Men's Ministry will provide you an opportunity to discuss real male issues within a supportive and confidential environment.. If you just want to go fishing, help out with our community outreach or plan a Christ centered program/activity., this is the space for you.
Women's Ministry
This is God's ministry for his dearly loved daughters. This ministry is Christ centered, friendly, uplifting, patient, purposefully, accommodating, spirit filled and kind. The bible uses the word joy more than 200 times, so laughter and levity are welcomed in the women's ministry.
It is in this ministry, you will learn to be balanced, learn how to refresh and rejuvenate. You will grow spiritually and be able to discern the voice of God by decluttering your mind.
Our ministry is very fluid and open to our times and situations.
We are not the women we were 5, 10, or 15 years ago. We will celebrate every stage and embrace our experience with reflections and peace..
We will plan our an annual retreat and women's season together.
We will meet in person and zoom.

Tech Team Ministry
The Tech Team is a ministry because they are responsible for all communications using the internet. Technology is always evolving, so we need people who don't mind becoming life long learners. There are technical components to this ministry as well as non-technical components to this ministry. We need camera operators for live feed to Facebook, Webpage and YouTube. We need editors, writers and proofreaders for our webpage, eNewsletter, eBulletins and flipbooks. We need someone to respond to chats and provide a list of prayer request to Pastor Kirsten in real time. These positions can be held by our online members.
In John 21: 17 Jesus said, "Feed my sheep" and that is what the tech ministry will be charged with doing. They will be ministering to our online members by responding to the needs. If we have a member who has some visual challenges, they will make sure that whatever we use is text-to-read compliant or have an audio book. If we have a member who is hearing impaired, we will provide close captions. We are using technology to make sure that we can bring others to Christ and help everyone learn to hear the voice of God.

Health and Wellness Ministry
Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.
We need individuals who have a passion about health and wellness. We need individuals who are creative, engaging and articulate in their delivery. With the help of the technology team ministry, we support delivery in the form of videos, podcast and hybrid session. We need presentations that addresses our intergenerational membership. Some of this can be provided by our online membership. We need someone to come in an take blood pressure every Sunday. We also need someone to teach us how to turn "Soul Food" into "Safe Food". We need to teach our children how to be less anxious and angry. These are just a few suggestions and we are eager to support other ideas to improve the health and wellness.
This ministry is for college age (emerging adults) members. We have a bible study specifically for young adults and discussion meetings that addresses this generation that has so much transition.
We will help our young adults make life decisions with a sound mind and not to react with emotional decisions. We will learn to hear the voice of God and trust him fearlessly.
We plan to partner with young adult ministries at other churches and establish a campus ministry.
Our meeting place may take place at church, a café, college campus, or at the park. Some will be available online but we will always be in communication with each other.
We will be support in jubilant times and troubling times of confusion. We will meet you were you are. We are not perfect but we strive to serve a perfect God.
We will support social justice, voter registration and be the voice of the future.

Faith and Money Ministry
We are using Biblical Wisdom as our personal finance guide. Numerous stories and sayings from the Bible, written thousands of years ago, illustrate basic financial concepts that are as relevant as ever in the modern world. There are over 2,300 Bible verses about money. This includes topics like wealth, possessions, greed, money mindset, contentment, investing, and more
In our discussions, we will meet you were you are financially and teach you how to grow. We can't hear the voice of God, if we are consumed with our finances.
We will study tithing, stewardship, financial growth, credit, loans, estate planning, housing, researching large purchases, realistic budgeting, the psychology of financial decisions, and investments.
All the presentations will be virtual and on the eNewsletter.

Young Adult Ministry
